Child Gets Back Severed Hand at SKIMS after 14 – Hour Surgery
After a mammoth fourteen – hour surgery, a team of Surgeons including Dr. Mir Mohsin, Dr. Haroon led by Head of the Department (HOD) Plastic Surgery, SKIMS Dr. Adil Hafeez, successfully reconstructed the hand.

With his hand torn apart, bleeding profusely and in acute pain, the child was taken to Shair e Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura.

Director SKIMS, Dr. Omar Javed Shah congratulated the department for successfully conducting the surgery and said SKIMS has taken a lead in conducting challenging procedures.
“Re-Implantation surgery of a hand is a challenge world over, as the hand is one of the Primary Organs to function in the body. Loss of hand can lead to a severe disability as well as loss of earning capacity of an individual”, Dr Shah added.
