Biplab Chatterjee Inaugurates two Jan Aushadhi Kendras in Srinagar
Chief Executive Officer of Department of Pharmaceuticals Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers Government of India (GoI), Biplab Chatterjee on Saturday inaugurated two Jan Aushadhi Kendras at Kursoo Padshahibagh Srinagar and Athwajan Bypass Srinagar.
According to the statement, Biplab Chatterjee said that to make quality and affordable medicines a reality in India, the Department of Pharmaceuticals Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers Government of India (GoI) took it’s initiatives a step further by launching the Pradhan Manti Jan Aushadi scheme and after the launch of this scheme in 2008, many stores of Jan Aushadhi have already been opened in various districts of the state and more such stores will be established in the state of J&K in the days to come.
While speaking on the occasion state Coordinator, Jan Aushadhi (J&K), Rifat Nazir said that on the huge demand of people from both these areas and adjoining localities these stores were established and more than 270 medicines for different diseases and health issues are available in these stores.
She further stated that “we are expecting that people will encourage the efforts of Government in keeping quality medicines available to masses on affordable prices and will purchase the required medicines from the stores.”
On the inauguration of both the stores Assistant Drug Controller of Drugs and Food Control Organization Parvaiz Ahmed, Broadcaster Mohammad Amin Bhat and other Senior Citizens of the areas were also present on the occasion.
